Farewell to the First Golden Era

I was a commentator on NPR’s Morning Edition  for about eight years, appearing once or twice a month between 1998 and 2006 or thereabouts.  We went our separate ways when I put the term pendejo in a commentary about Social Security and its coming racial overlay – poorer workers of color paying in so better-off white retirees can get benefits.  Back in Jackson Heights when I was a kid, the term was used as “schmuck” would be, so imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a very coarse expression for a feminine pubic hair.  (Maybe I should have checked with Justice Thomas.)  I was given my papers at that point, but this body of work – these are commentary texts I could find – remains.  Under the heading “radio transmissions,” there are audio recordings of other commentaries not laid out here in the "Radio Transmissions" page.  I've also included a few of the better entries from my a telecomms and economics blog I ran about ten years ago (e.g., Facebook at 50, Baggage Handlers, Snowmageddon).
